Ally Maki
( Founder + CEO )
Ally Maki is a Japanese American actress, creator, and entrepreneur, and the founder of Asian American Girl Club. As CEO, she leads AAGC’s creative direction and its growing slate of storytelling, podcasts, and media initiatives designed to amplify Asian American voices.
Her acting career spans film, television, and voiceover. Ally earned critical praise for her leading performance in Seagrass (TIFF International Critics Prize) and starred in Randall Park’s Shortcomings (Sundance, Sony Pictures Classics) opposite Justin H. Min and Sherry Cola. She also appears in Apple TV’s The Big Door Prize and is known for standout roles in Pixar’s Toy Story 4, Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, HBO Max’s Hacks and Wrecked.
Through both her screen work and AAGC, Ally is committed to bringing joyful, complex, and culturally resonant Asian American stories to the forefront.
Jenna Ushkowitz

Jenna Ushkowitz is a mom, Korean-born adoptee, actress, producer, author, singer, and podcast host, and currently the COO of Asian American Girl Club, where she manages daily operations and oversees media, brand, and community initiatives. A seasoned entertainment executive and two-time Tony Award–winning producer, Jenna brings over 20 years of experience across television, Broadway, and audio production.
Best known for her role as Tina Cohen-Chang on FOX’s Glee, she also co-hosts the hit iHeartRadio podcast And That’s What You Really Missed and serves as a creative partner at At Will Media, developing original content across podcast and digital platforms.
Her credits span Tony Award Winning shows, The King & I, Waitress & Spring Awakening, films such as Hello Again & Rosé All Day, and voice work for HBO Max and Netflix. A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Acting and a minor in Musical Theatre, Jenna continues to bridge entertainment and entrepreneurship through authentic storytelling and community impact.
Tia Samn
( Chief of Staff )
Tia Samn is a Bay Area–born multimedia creative with a passion for design, storytelling, and music. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University’s School of Design, where she earned her degree in Visual Communications with a focus on Graphic Design and Social Media Marketing.
Tia’s journey with Asian American Girl Club began through its first mentorship program with Nike in 2022. Since then, she has grown from intern to Chief of Staff, where she collaborates across teams on company operations, strategy, design, branding, and event initiatives that bring AAGC’s mission to life.
Kara Wang
( Head of Community )
Kara Wang, Head of Community at Asian American Girl Club, is a bilingual and bicultural Chinese American actress recognized for her work in film and television across both Asia and the United States.
Some notable works in Asia include Chen KaiGe’s “Caught in the Web” and Sony International’s “The Calm Beyond”. Stateside, she has appeared in series including Freeform’s “Good Trouble” and Amazon’s “Goliath”, and on the big screen in the Paramount box office hit "Top Gun: Maverick". Kara also has a great passion for wine as a certified sommelier, and has recently entered the world of entrepreneurship with four vintage releases under her wine label, Amryn.
